On another link it was brought up we should have a survey on how many C-Brats smoke weed. Not sure how trackable the info is but I for one would find it interesting. No names....just yes or no with a percentage answering yes and percentage answering no. Then maybe the number responding.
The other link was called Potheads and C-Dory or something like that. Sorry, I do not have the skills to do the little insert the link here tricky thing. Going to have to depend on another one of my C-Brat family for their assistance. _________________ Patrick Byrd "Byrdman"

I stand corrected. Looking at the front home page...it is called a Poll.
So....I would like to request an official poll. |

We are trying to let the other thread fade away on it's own because that kind of crap does not fit here. The only survey we're taking is between me and Bill as to whether it gets locked.
Thank you. _________________ TyBoo Mike

Well OK Mike. I appreciate your response and all the two of you have done for our cbrat family. Someone has to be the adult supervision. You can pull this if you feel it is out of line. It is a law change and effects us. If it effects us, it effects our boating. I guess I should leave it alone but for me, the stuff is doing many good things that the prescription stuff could not or did not. You call. I am OK with any of it. Thanks again.

Patrick it has been so much fun watching our fellow brats spin out on this topic. It has made being 60 feel like Jr High. My walking ability is really impaired I use a Segway, electric scooter and weel chair to get around. Mine is a hereditary issue that is not fatal just inconvient, the only drug offered for my condition is an antidepressent, no way am I going that route. However a little herbal enhancement is just right, like spritual sand paper. Defending it really is unnecessary at my age, I've paid for and maintain three homes and I'm not even a republican. Those of you who are some how disturbed by marjuina, breathe slow, we mean you no harm.
My 16 cruiser is the greatest medicine I could ever have come across, my loss of walking has cut off more than I care to admit. Advid dinghy racer, bicycle racer, back packing. All these skills I have distilled into my boat the "Ocklawaha Queen". I get to trim the 16 like a dinghy, I carry my electric scooter on board and can travel well at port and the boat allows luxury camping.

That stuff's frowned upon in our boating community up here, however, if a person resides in an area where it has been legalized the matter should be free to be discussed in that area. I'm assuming there was some sort of public input required before such laws were passed,,,,,,, or is that Colorado I'm thinking of? I do recall seeing a cartoonist's rendition of the Space Needle obscured by a haze of smoke, back in the days when this subject was making headlines. Guess it doesn't matter to us up here anyway,, the stuff's illegal and that's the end of the matter. I like to get my highs off things like scenery and nature. There's nothing like the buzz ya get from being in the midst of towering snow capped peaks, waterfalls, wildlife, huge trees, and an ocean full of free food for the taking. It's a shame more people don't get to enjoy this kind of buzz. |

Interesting to read that physicians dont approve
The American Medical Association's policy-making body voted Tuesday to reaffirm its opposition to marijuana legalization, but also called the current federal approach to reducing the drug's use "ineffective" and endorsed a review of the "risks and benefits" of new legal markets in Colorado and Washington

The policy making body is generally filled with docs who are a bit older than the average. Hence, while that may be the official AMA policy, I don't think one can extrapolate the opinion to the broader physician community. _________________ Roger on Meant to be |

Okay , now I have to say my two cents worth here ...... I'm reading that Tyboo is saying that he and DaNag are talking about shuting down the thread about pot use ...... Well. Was DaNag not a part of that discussion ? And I see other people saying that this subject does not belong here ...... But some good questions have come up thru this thread like what would the Feds do to ya if caught with a little weed on board , ect, ect . And I read at the top of the home page that there are " NO RULES JUST BE NICE " Just my two cents worth....... Larry _________________ You can steal my wallet , You can flirt with my wife. I have been on this site for many years, and some topics just push all the 'hot' buttons on some folks. A few threads have been locked, and perhaps one or two deleted.
IF, (that's a big IF), folks can 'Just Be Nice', the threads stay open, if not, the our leaders Mike and Bill have to step in to restore order.
Washington State, by a vote of the people, decriminalized/legalized possession of less that one ounce of marijuana and provided legal, controlled, stores (like liquor stores) where over 21's can purchase it.
So.... JUST BE NICE....and we can discuss almost anything!
If some folks don't want to see those threads, they can just ignore them. _________________ Larry H

Two threads....same topic. Yes, there is good info happening. What about just combining the threads...for educational value if nothing else. I posted this on the other thread...thanking someone for information.
Thank you Brent. It is the testing of impairment that I am interested in and where I think we need to spend some of that new tax money.
I have and use a Alcohawk ABI at my house.
That probably shocks some of you, but behind some occasional humor there is a serious caring man here.
My guest are free to use it prior to departing....or..at times...it is used to give us an unbiased opinion if someone should drive, be driven, or just stay till things wear off.
I have looked, but can not find a device (affordable) for weed yet.... for my guest at home in CO or WA.

Grandma used to say, "You spot it, you got it."
Translation (needed for some): When you see or hear something objectionable,
that "pushes one of your buttons" (read anger, revulsion, distaste, etc), what you
are feeling is something objectionable about yourself you are sensitive to or
do not like. Ultimately, it means you have some work to do on yourself.
Aye.
On this topic, Grandpa used to say, "We don't see the world as it is. We see it as
we are." _________________ "I don't want any cake" - said no one ever.
If someone tells you they don't eat cake, unfriend them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life. |

Well then, I guess I have some work to do on myself because what I am finding myself not liking right now is my own damn web site.
I apologize. Do whatever you want on here. I really don't care any more. The joke thread is wide open, too. |
