We will be there! Patti and Barry, we sure will miss you two, but understand your family commitment.
Cindie and Greg, thanks for stepping up. With Susan and Tom's help, should be a good one, but make sure and practice your "Sun Dance!"
Hopefully we can get the new Kim Christine christened. Is there anyone available? _________________ Patrick and Kim Walker

I will talk to Barry about the christening duties and we may have to vote in a new reverend.

I just read an article about how bad ethanol gas is in older outboard engines. Is Friday Harbor ethanol gas? If it is, I will make sure I got full tanks before leaving the Gulf Islands.

Over the years I have done one or two chrisenings...I could stand in this year if desired. I THINK I christened Pingu for Sarge...oir maybe not, I do remember translating "Pingu" as Aleut for "beer can boat"!

Looking at the puregas.org website, Island Petroleum in Friday Harbor sells ethanol free gas, but only at their gas station a few blocks away. According to their website the dockside pump only sells ethanol gas. How convenient |

HI Martin, There was a thread about some possibly bad gas but ultimately it is hard to know where to point the finger.

We usually don't fuel up there for price reasons or route reasons but we do love to stop at the Blakely island fuel dock on our way out and back. Great little place.

Launa and I will be there. This will be our first CBGT and we always enjoy Friday Harbor. We may also be looking for Christening Services as FREQUENT-C has yet to have a proper ceremony. _________________ Steve and Launa

Barry and Patti, Will miss you, and hope your family duties will go well. You have served well and Friday Harbor has become a fine tradition. Thank you.
Greg and Cindy, I too, will be glad to help in any way I can.
SleepyC will be there.
DaNag, You are all right - alright

Barry & Patti, I commend you on your decision and am proud to say I know both of you as friends. Sorry to hear of your family situation, but I'm sure the involved family member is cherished by you both. I wish you and them they best and our prayers go out to you all.
That said, M and I won't be attending again this year. We had planned a two week vacation to Hawai'i, and these dates fall in the middle of our trip. I have not been home since the passing of my father, so...
We will be out and about this summer and if any other "get-togethers" are organized, we would surely make the trip. We will be in Poulsbo for the 3rd too.
Aloha... _________________ "We can go over there...behind the 'little one'....."

Hi there again,
This is Sandy Mckean. I purchased David McKibben's CD25 Anna Leigh about a year ago. My wife and I met many of you at last year's May gathering at Friday Harbor.
I have since (finally!) decided on a new name for the boat: Tosca. I'm an opera buff and Tosca is my favorite female opera character. She is tough, courageous, and unafraid when the chips are down. While at the same time, she is beautiful, artistic, passionate, and jealous as hell. Her life's creed (and her most famous aria) is "I live for art; I live for love." Sounded like the just qualities I would want my boat to have!
So I need a ceremony to make it all official and to please Mr. Neptune.
P.S. Note I have also changed my username on C-Brats to reflect this change. |

Hi Sandy,
Noticed the name change so I'm thinking you may want to put the new moniker on the boat. The physical process is fairly simple but if you want to see it in detail I have a sub-album in my pix that goes through the whole process. See this link:
http://www.c-brats.com/modules.php?set_albumName=album598&op=modload&name=gallery&file=index&include=view_album.php
Basically, take the old off and put the new on. As to the formal name changing program, that's a personal preference. Just sayin.
Where you put it is up to you, but your name is short, so here's a tip I wish I had before I put my lettering on. IF you put the name on, just in front of the nav lights, it is still very visible from the side view, and yet when/if you are walking forward on the combing rail, -- that little side walk way while hanging onto the hand rail, your toes will not scuff the lettering, and you don't have to be looking down at where you are putting your feet, just feel the vertical with your toe.
Look forward to seeing you at Friday Harbor.
Harvey
