Hardware store has the same little nylon washers and are a lot cheaper, has worked for me for 10 years on honda 75.

What section did you find a similar nylon washer in that hardware store of yours?

The nuts and bolts section they have a whole bunch off special stuff in little cabinets grade eight bolts to kotter pins and everthing in between.

I have never replaced a drain plug gasket in 30 yrs except for the one dropped in the sand and could not find it.
Never had a leak either. ON several Honda's and several Johnson's.
Maybe just lucky.
