Wanted to "write" again, but left puter at home for the last two trips. This last trip out... sumpin happened... felt like writin again, just in a different way. More pix, fewer words... gettin lazy I guess all this movin' has a way of changin things. Can't wait till we actually escape Anchorage |

Just another "announcement" ...
I ain't been ignorin' anyone or anything round here folks, just super-duper-busy is all getting "moved" and everything, taking trips to my "Injun Grocery Store" (the sound) as well, to stay somewhat "sane"
"Pirate Deb" told me something that meant a lot to me on our last trip out "you really belong out here" " I love seeing you this happy all the time".
Between projects on the old house here, we long to get out and go shopin' and I keep sharin pix and my experience with everyone on site cuz friends always ask me to!
I hope to get some time to share more with ya'll...

Hey Greg...how do you like that BFR? Are you actually getting 1800 with a 500 grainer from that barrel? That's a handful for sure!

Hey Rick
Well I just luv it I do all my own ammo myself, somethin I really enjoy From what i read about the BFR; their just a beefed-up Ruger!! (if thats possible ) and yes, it's brutal to shoot them damn 500 grainers, at that velocity :0 somethin I stopped doing actually! their there only for a huge-ass'd "fuzzy"
Them specs are for the longer barrel, I know I ain't quite gettin that dang much power out of it, though that's enough for an elephant, if one ever gets loose out there |

The company that supplies some of the parts for Ruger also supplies them for the BFR...and they are identical.
I roll my own, too. I shoot some of the more exotic stuff (.416 Rigby and a .500 Nitro, both No. 1's, and 2 FA revolvers, .454 Casull and .475 Linebaugh....and Donna's .375 H&H) and it's the only way we can afford to make 'em go bang.

Good God son you got me beat all-ta-hell Most I do is appreciate the ballistics of them big bad monsters Really I ain't a "gun nut" but maybe it's so... might be one after all
The venerable old 45-70 has much appeal to me, bein' a romantic I guess, at heart for the things of "old" maybe that's why we luv dory's so much
Already have the Marlin and all the reloading goodies, could not resist that BFR. So tired of luggin round a rifle!! sides, I need to have a canon to loan my beach campers, keep rifle on boat for back-up |
