I have a 2006 16 with red accents. What is my best option to obtain matching gelcoat for deap scratch repair? Thanks. _________________ Ron & Rose

It looks like this is a different boat from the one in your album, so let me ask:
Is it bright red like the former DaNag or like Duckdogtitus's boat (more rare)?
Or is it the maroon (more common, which they call Cabernet)?
I have the color code for the Cabernet (but not for the bright red), which is as follows:
3) Cabernet: Cook Composites # 953-MA-206
I have not used this code as my boat is blue, but I used the blue code from the same source (I think it was Scot at C-Dory) and the white one and the gelcoat was a fantastic match. I ordered mine from www.gelcoatproducts.com , but there are other places as well.
This is the code I used for the white, btw:
CCP # DX 963-WK-506 |

Depending on the amount you need you might be better off mixing it yourself. Iboats sells the Spectrum C-dory color gelcoats. However, all the colors other than white are only available in 1 gallon quantities. I needed a little bit of green and mixed it using the Evercolor kit. |

Yes, the pictures in my album (Beagle ) are of our former boat. Our new CDory is red. I have the original invoice and owners manual and they both say red.
Spectrum is $500 for the gallon. |

I just noticed that the owners manual lists the manufacture as COOK and the color is red 953RA076. |

When I ordered from the place I linked to above, I didn't have to order a huge amount. I got 1 quart of the white and 1 pint of the blue. Prices seemed reasonable to me, and I don't think there is any way I would have got as good a match doing it on my own (it's an art). |

I have a little bit of the Cabernet color, but it is pretty hard and dry. Is it possible to re-constitute it for use? I am going to need some this fall. What I have is probably 3 years old. There is about 3-4 table spoons worth.

I ended up ordering a gel coat repair kit from GELCOAT Products in Seattle for $35. The kit comes with 1oz of paste.
A quart is the next smallest quantity and it costs about $120 with the hardener. |
