|
|
Just wanted to see if anyone has used the Scotty 2027 Stanchion Mount on their 25 Cruiser or Tomcat railing.
I am considering the 2027 instead of the 1027, because then I don't have to used a starboard plank along the stanchion with a ss U-Bolt. Recently purchased a 25 and was looking in threads with 25s set up for fishing and saw that Fred on Anita Marie has the 1027 system.
Just need some feedback on if the 2027 is good. The boat has Canon stanchion mount on it, similar to the Scotty 2027, but they are not interchangeable.
Thanks,

Hey there .... Yeah I have the stanchion mounts on our TomCat they work well no movement at all ... I used thru bolts and nyloc nuts instead of the thumb wheel locks ya get with the mount , better fit and not so easy to get off . (boat is in water at marina so piece of mind there). _________________ You can steal my wallet , You can flirt with my wife. But if you mess with my BOAT , You are risking your life. |

I use this mount also with swivel base, one on each side. No complaints and no holes to drill! Holds solid using 12 pound canon weights. For the 25 I think its the best fit, just my opinion. _________________ Jay

Thanks for the input guys. I think it's a simpler solution, too, but wanted to check for strength. Those stanchions are pretty stout when I grab them to get up on the boat, so a 12 pound weight on a boom seems ok.
Have you used that mounted to haul shrimp pots? I usually add 25 pounds to my pots and don't use lead line. |

I'm sure you could use the 2027 as a pot puller. I use a 1027 a little forward because the stanchions are located too close to my canopy mounts, and pull strings of 2 and 3.from as deep as 700 feet using an Ace Brutus. |
