Getting ready to change the lower unit oil in my BF90d. I'm looking for a pump to fit the quart bottle of oil and the fill on the lower unit. I've found several brands, all of them fairly cheap. Is there a particular brand that holds up over time? Frankly, from the photos I've seen I'm not sure any of them would hold up to pumping thick oil over time. Any suggestions or experiences?

Thanks!

Mine are simple hand operated things and they are so cheap, that I just keep a couple around. If one goes bad, I just grab another. My boat shop guy uses a very expensive electric pump, with brass fittings for the motors but then, he's doing this stuff day in and day out.

I use this pump which came with Penzoil--and then fill the container up from a less expensive plastic jug, which does not have the pump. You can also buy the pumps on Amazon for about $6 to $12.

For the Honda, you'll need an adapter for sure, like the one shown in the second photo Bob posted. I found an adapter that fit in a local Yamaha store. It's still a messy job. Use a big pan under the motor.

Same thing as Bob's but from StaLube via West Marine: Outboard lower case pump.

My only comment is to keep track of it. I'm on my third, lost the others.
