I suspect most of us have experienced a roll of paper towels unrolling when we are trailering or on the water. Here's an easy way to cure that. I took the plastic handle that came on a flat screen TV box, screwed it into the cabinet door, with enough tension to keep a roll of paper towels from leaving us with a mess to clean up.

What a great idea! Yep, I'm one of those who is always rerolling my paper towels... I use a tiny bungee cord on the roll when I remember to use it, but it crunches down the roll. Thanks for sharing this fix; it's going on my to-do list Very Happy

Our paper towel roll is mounted on the overhead, near the bulkhead for the enclosed head. A thin strip of velcro accommodates the roll as it gets smaller.

Along the lines of something that works for "next to nothing," Joan made straps from webbing we had, with velcro we had, and snaps we had. Those straps are made so they snap to the male snap already in the boat - wrap the strap around what you want to hold, then velcro it. We use it to hold the fan in the opening to the v-berth and to hold the door of the head open when we shower (using a shower curtain, which doesn't leak... you have a bit more "elbow room" with the head door held open.

Best wishes,
Jim

So I have to buy a flat screen TV for this free improvement? Cool. As long as I have a valid way to justify it to the wife.

Great solution though. The best part is that its something that you don't have to remember to put back on or adjust after you take a paper towel off the roll. Which is the precise problem with my solution (similar to the bungee Rob mentioned).
