I know some of you have no problem going out when its 30f or colder... I do. when the days are too short (night drive to work followed by night drive home) and the weather is constantly in that 20f-30f range I just don't have much interest in anything outside...
but lately as these days get longer, I'm getting the bug to get out and get boating again. can't wait for this years season!

I find that boating is about comfort. I have a lot more fun when I am warm. The key to warmth is having the right cloths or a heat source. I just spent the last few months duck hunting in weather from 45 to 10 degrees and I was only cold once because I got wet. Great thing about the cdorys is that you have a great warm boat to go out in. Add some good dry warm cloths and winter should never get in the way. And the best thing for the winter blues is boating. _________________ Thomas J Elliott

I will probably try to get the C-Dory out in the next couple weeks. We've been too busy lately but she is well equipped for heat. You're right about the comfort, and really the CD has no lack.
speaking of hunting, I knew I wouldnt have time this year, but I used to run around all over the place...

now I tell you what, I took my 'winter' clothes and found that even with 3 pairs of pants on under my neoprene waders, and shoving my socks and pockets full of pocket warmers I was not able to find comfort in the minus 16f temps we had snow goose hunting in MO. awesome time but no comfort was had! even the hotel room window as cracked and heater broken, lol. that's 4-5 days of just pure cold. |
