|
|
Hello All,
I am about to change my gear oil in a Honda BF90. I also would like to change the impeller later this winter. Does one have to drain the gear case oil before removing the lower leg housing to access the water pump housing? I am asking this as it would seem changing the gear case oil first would be like putting the cart before the horse. It seems logical that the water pump impeller and housing are sealed from the gear case oil, however, before jumping in, I wanted to ask others if they have had experience with this.
Thanks,
Grazer |

Grazer-
No, they are independent tasks, and can be done separately.
Good Luck! (Easy job!)

What Joe said.
Just did both on my BF150 yesterday. New to me engine, so it was a learning process at the same time. Even with the education, took all of 3hrs for both going very slowly. |
