My wife and I will be new to cooking with the Wallas. It seems a lot of people talk about stainless pans. Besides the weight, does cast iron work very well. We are trying to find a one skillet does it all. Our stainless pans at home are always a chore to clean. I've read a lot of threads and haven't come across cast iron, so I thought I would just ask.

Thanks

If the bottom of the skillet is flat and makes good contact with the ceramic on the top of the Wallas stove it will work fine. Since my wife is a Mississippi girl, she often uses cast iron cookware.

Like Bob says, cast iron will work IF the bottom is flat and will make full contact with the Wallas glass top. It is worth it to remember that it is a GLASS top. I found a nice 10" stainless with the "super green" teflon non-stick. Worked like a dream.

I am a fan of cast iron cooking and have four different sized skillets at home. All the bottoms have an indented or raised circle plus the manufacturer's logo. So not sure how flat it would be on the Wallas? I think it would be ok because my stove at home is a ceramic top. I do have stainless on the boat, but am not impressed with the amount of cleaning when things stick. Adjusting heat levels with cast iron and the Wallas may be a bit tricky.

Martin.

Try keeping your stainless "seasoned" like a cast iron. We use a big one for our go to skillet at home and very little sticks to it. Michael
