|
|
Time for me to draw on the collective wisdom of our fellow brats!
My last run with my 1982 Johnson 70 hp 2 stroke (which is on my 22' Angler) would only give me 4800 rpm at wot with normal load.
My current prop is 13 3/4 by 15
My thoughts are I need to prop down to a 13 3/4 by 13 to try to get up to 5500 Does this seem right to you?
Its seems hard to find an online supplier who has this diameter in 13" pitch
Any suggestions?
As a footnote:
I just installed a permatrim and lifted the engine as high as I can. AV plate is very close to bottom of now ( 1/2" below) There is still water over it at full speed but that is as high as I can go without re-drilling. I don't know how much that may affect things???
Any thoughts? _________________ Writing a sea story with my C-Dory !

Sounds like you are on the right track, but if you want online recommendations and possibly a test prop, you could visit the propgods web site.
