Can I get a count for who can come and do safety boat work for the Rat Island Regatta on June 29?

It is a fun event, providing safety boats for the regatta, which includes rowers, kayakers, paddle boarders, canoers. Additionally, it is a mini-gathering of our own.

Pretty sure Harvey ("Hardee") is on it. Can others come?

I had intended to row, but will be in my CDory this year.

Dave

Dave and Harvey,

As of now, I am also planning to hopefully be there to help out for the Rat Island Regatta (unless something not currently scheduled comes up work-wise that will cause me to be out of town).

I won't have anybody to help me out as crew on our boat (my wife Tanya will likely be onshore w/ our dog Hannah) so you and/or Harvey can decide if my presence would be more beneficial assisting one of you as an additional crew member aboard one of your boats or it would be more beneficial if I had our boat there solo to assist in the Rat Island Regatta efforts.

Perhaps, as in past years, other volunteers would be around to join us as crew members so none of us were not out there solo.

Take care,
Dan, Tanya, and Hannah on C-Renity

Dan, Sounds great. I'd love to have you on SleepyC again, or ride with you but it might be better to have at least 3 boats available. Seems like there is usually no shortage of rowing club volunteers for ride-alongs though.

Bring this back up to the top. I spent the weekend at Mystery Bay State Park dock, and it has been upgraded. Nice new pumpout float, nice new restrooms and they converted the picnic shelter to a shelter for leprechauns. No idea why. And the water works now. Always nice to get in there, fun channel and lots of room. Let's plan on staying there for the night before the Rat Island Race.

I would like to come but that's just after Susan has surgery so it will depend on how she is feeling by then. I will leave it open.

Hey Tom,

It would be nice to have you there. Is Susan not going to be able to be there or is that what is up in the air. Sure hope she does OK. Prayers for that, for sure. Will be waiting to hear.

Lets plan on fish and chips at SeaJ's in PT Friday pm and then cruise over to Mystery Bay for the night. We can have a mini CBGT.

Back up for consideration. This one is coming up in 2 weekends on June 29-30. Could use about 6 C-Dory's. It is easy and fun and includes a free lunch, (or at least it has in the previous years).

Looking forward to a great weekend.

Dan, Dave and any others. Does a 4 PM Friday meet at Sea J's sound like it would work? Then over to Mystery Bay?

How about some of the other folks around? You are welcome.

Hey Harvey... Friday is a work day for those of us stuck on the 5 day a week 9-5 (or close to it) grind making 1600 hours a bit too early to plan on for a Friday.

I know you are still grinding away also, but you normally have Friday's off. I took a vacation day (on Friday) for the recent Friday Harbor Gathering and will take one again for the upcoming La Conner Gathering; however, running out of vacation so not taking one for this event.

I will just plan on catching up w/ you guys later at Mystery Bay.

Take care,
Dan

Looks like the Rat Island Regatta will start at 1000 on Saturday morning, June 29th w/ a pre-race organizing meeting (which we will plan to attend) at 0915. This should all take place right near the boat ramp / Marine Science Center area of Fort Worden State Park.

A small write-up on the Rat Island Regatta itself can be seen at http://soundrowers.org/RatIsland.aspx. This webpage also shows the path the rowers will be taking as we tag along as safety escorts.

Information on the Washington Fort Worden State Park facility can be seen at http://www.parks.wa.gov/fortworden/.

Sounds like Sleep-C and ourselves will spend the previous night - Friday night, June 28th - on the dock at Mystery Bay State Park, which is a fairly short cruise across the bay from Fort Worden. Info on Mystery Bay can be seen at http://www.parks.wa.gov/parks/?selectedpark=Mystery%20Bay.

Any others who might have any interest in escorting the rowers, or who might want to just overnight at Mystery Bay w/ a couple fellow C-Brats, would be very welcome to join us!

Take care and safe passage,
Dan, Tanya, and Hannah on C-Renity

We can not make it. Susan's date with the knife is now July 1st so she does not want to go anywhere before that. You guys have fun.
