I have a line on a what might be a good deal on one of these Jabsco units: http://www.amazon.com/Jabsco-37010-0090-Electric-12-Volt-Compact/dp/B000O8F3D2
A local boater has a new one he wants to sell. Anyone know if it will fit properly and work in my 2004 CD-25? And would it be easy to install/replace the existing Jabsco head that was factory installed?
Thanks - David |

David,
Does your 25' have a sewage holding tank that is separate from the toilet? Not part of the toilet base. The unit you indicate has no built in holding capacity, but would discharge into a tank or overboard if you incorporated a "Y" selector valve. _________________

Yes. The holding tank is located under the deck at the transom. |

The electric is almost identical-there was a conversion kit from manual to electric. You might move the base slightly, and do some replumbing. I had one conversion and one new electric. (but not in a C dory) You should be able to rotate the base90 deg. If there is not enough room for the motor straight back.
You will probably use a bit more water (fill up the tank faster). The discharge is 1"--adaptor supplied. The used to called the "growler". For the noise they made. Like any head the don't like anything not pre eaten... They do use16 amps..short time. I had some electrolysis issues on the bronze thru hull, until I put in a dual pole switch (breaker) to disruptive the negative when I was not actually using the head. _________________ Bob Austin

Thanks for responding. If I can get it for the price I want to pay I will forge ahead. |
