A couple of years ago we had a gathering at Blake Island that worked out real well. I was wondering about a gathering in early March maybe at Blakely Island. They have power, and a great club house with plenty of firewood. Everyone knows how good the cruising is. Just an idea, what does everyone think?

The March cruise sounds good Fred. Didn't we do Lopez in March last year? How about the 2nd week of March? like around the 13-14th?

Well Geez, feel like I am a bit forgetful. guess it was Olympia aka,the "rainout" in March last year,Lopez was later. Ok Blakely sounds good for sure instead of Olympia and the rain. 2nd week is good for us .

This is going to be tight. We are scheduled for March 17-31 on Maui. Blakely is a great place.
Count me in if it doesn't conflict with the above.

We would love to visit Blakley Island in March--we're planning on a trip to Lake Powell in late Feb. or early March. Hope these two trips don't conflict.

March can be a windy month up here, but then so can every month between Oct and May! Count me and PegW in.

At this point put us as a "possibility". I'm scheduled to work the 1st three Saturdays in March. Once you've decided on a firm date, then I'll have to work out a trade day in order for us to make the trip.

Jim and Laurie,
In the past we've gathered at Lopez on the opening weekend of boating season (which in checking on "google" is May 1, 2004).

I think we need to have Lopez as our opening boating season week-end everyyear. That is a well established annual event.
In the past they have given all comers free berthing on that week-end so we need to get reservations early.

OK, so (A) we are definitely talking about BlakeLY and not Blake, and (2) early March, instead of Oly. Somebody should just pick the date, run it up the flagpole and see who salutes...

Pat, I was just running it up the flagpole. I was speaking of Blakley just for the clubhouse with all the firewood on hand and the great people who run it, Rick and Norma.
I am game for anywhere just trying to get the ball rolling.

And I was saluting! Just clarifying, don't want Ricardo going off to Blake again! Blakely is great, one of my new favorite places. What date do you like?

Yep Ya'all are correct in remembering for me. Lopez is opening weekend of boating. Blakely the second weekend the 13th 14th is good for us.We agree Fred , the facilities and the foks that run it are pretty nice! We will be gone the first weekend. (Las Vegas for NASCAR ).

This may be a possiblity for us depending on when we get our new motor and if the rest of you don't have Les so busy that he can't find time to put it on our boat for us. Wink
