I think a length of 10" diameter plasic pipe mounted vertical with a bottom full of small holes would work great. Cut the gills and drop the fish head first into the tube and he can't go anywhere and the mess goes overboard from the splashwell. I'm really leaning toward something like that. Then into the fishbag he goes. |
Another great idea. I don't tuna fish so wasn't thinking along those lines. I think that is the nice thing about your design. Build the table and add what works for you. Now I'm thinking maybe one could add that tube with a cap if not in use to the bottom of the bleeding box. Hummmmm. More to follow I'm sure. _________________ Mike Hamilton / Hambone C-Brat # 4612

Tagged for reference. I love the idea to make use of that space.
Can the engine be tilted all the way up with the table in place? |

The table has to be tilted forward if I want to tilt the engine all the way. That's why I went with the hinge design from the git-go. I wanted the table as large as possible. You could certainly make yours smaller if you wanted to.

There are a number of different types Mike to choose from. I would just Google ( fish bags ) and start there. They are great for a 22 as it frees up deck space. |

What a great job you did. I've been thinking of doing the same on my CD 16 cruiser. I sure could use deck space!! |

I really like how you closed off the splashwell. I have been sketching some ideas about doing something very similar. Maybe make it higher so the engines lift under it and room to house the honda generator. Opening the access hatch could make a table in the cockpit. Jim

Love it so far. Jim, you're limited only by your imagination. That's what I love about these boats, you make them suit your use. Looks like a good winter project for you! |

I looked at the picture more closely - C&H brand. was it a medium (19x62 inch) or large (30x65)? Looks like it fits the space nicely. |

Our fish bag is about 64" wide and 28" high. It works great, even when we lived in the south. Kept ice all day even in 90 degree heat. |

Great - Thanks. Looks like the large one. I hope to use it for fishing just across the strait from you! One of these days I plan to motor over from Victoria in my CD22. |

Mike, One of these days ..... hey when you get ready to do that, let me know and I'll come out and meet you two and get some pictures of some C-Dory fishing. (Oh, ask Rick, I don't fish ....unless he is there coaching.... but is sure was fun.)
Harvey
