I not only finally got around to doing this, I actually figured out how to post some pics of the installations! Page 7 of the MOOSE album now contains a pic of our twin, removable, cockpit jump seats. They're comfortable and economical of space. We worried about the portside seat interfering with the door, but with a 4" door hook to keep it open at 90 degrees, there is no problemo. The portside seat allows a counterbalance of weight with the person at the helm.

The u-leg on the starboard seat I made up to be removable using fast-pins. Then I made up a mounting block with an additional set of brackets for under the edge of the helm seat. With a couple of two- inch, drop-in spacer pieces saved from shortening the u-leg for cockpit installation, the u-leg becomes the right height for the helm position. Admitedly, it does block the aisleway, but it's a quick seating alternative for a passenger wanting to face forward and be involved in navigation, etc. All in all, so far we think it's a winner.
Al

Al- Nice job! The engineering and appearance both rate an A+!!!

I especially like the interchangeable and removeable feature of the installation. You did your homework and thinking on this one!

Looks and sounds like you folks also had a great time up along the North Shore of Lake Superior. All of the pictures in your album are interesting and show some really beautiful country.

Hope El and Bill get up there to enjoy it soon! Joe.

Nice job, Al -- looks like they "belong" on the boat.
