Welcome home, Sam! We enjoyed following along with your adventure! We are in the San Juans, but the anchor is set and we're enjoying an adult beverage on the lanai... we'll toast to your homecoming!
Best wishes,

chromer, I hadn't thought about doing an e-book. However, I may have some good news in a similar vein in the coming weeks...
ferret30, I just posted the missing days. For whatever reason (probably had to do with painfully slow internet connections and me working faster than I should have) several entries were stuck as drafts.
I've also got the last few days of the trip to put online, as well as lots of thoughts on cruising the Inside Passage and what works and what doesn't. Hopefully I'll get it all up on the blog this weekend.
For anyone contemplating the trip, it's totally worthwhile. The scenery is exceptional, the wildlife viewing is outstanding, and the people you meet along the way, both locals and cruisers alike, are interesting, helpful, and fun to be around.
I'll close out by saying that the CD 22 is an immensely capable boat. In more than 3200 nm of cruising this summer, sometimes in some pretty lousy weather, I never felt unsafe or in over my head. By and large, the systems performed reliably and the few problems I did have were dealt with fairly easily.
Thanks to everyone on here who suggested places to go, equipment to get, and provided encouragement along the way. This summer was a great introduction to the Inside Passage and I'm sure I'll make many more trips to Alaska in the future! _________________ My boating blog...http://samlandsman.blogspot.com/ |

Glad you made it home safe & sound, Sam. I'm very pleased to have been able to meet you in that little cove at the entrance to Tracy Arm during your adventure & many thanks to you for sharing on your blog the complete trip from planning, to execution, to review. A fantastic job so well recorded in words & photos.
