I just removed the monitor and monitor bracket for my old radar. To remove the Radar dome do i just cut the cable as short as possible/remove the four ( 4 ) . bolts that secure the dome to the cabin roof and pull.Is there anything else beside sealant holding the dome down. Tug |

As long as you plan to junk it Tug, cut the cable. As far as sealant goes , kinda hard to see from here.

Cutting the cables trashes the radar, which is OK. Another approach is to remove the radome, disconnect the cable from the inside and feed it back through the hole in the (I assume) cabin top.
Either way will work, just depends on the purpose.

Tug-
I don't know how far north Issac will get before it dissipates after landfall, but you might want to plug that hole if you think it's gonna' rain!

Removing the cables intact could well make your used systems worth some money on e-bay. You never know what people are looking for out there. _________________ You can tell a man his wife is ugly, but never ever criticize his dog, his gun, his truck or his boat.

I did just that...i removed the Radome and disconnect all those little snap connections and feed the cable thru the hole in the roof. When i removed the Radome i was surprise how clean and new it looked..really sparkled.Tommorrow i will seal the holes with West System Epoxy, remove the wiring from the boat and store it in the basement with everything else. It's probably an easy fix if some-one wanted to buy it but i don't know how you would go about shipping something this big. Tug |

Tug, don't seal the hole up until you get your new radar and see if you can use the old hole. Tape it up and wait!

You can always use "more hole". What if you want to put it on a pedestal and run other cables through there too?

That old Si-Tex is worth something if advertised as "parts." Someone will want to fix theirs.

Had to cut the 10 meter cable...the wiring and electronics must of been installed when the boat was new...The cable was so interwound with the other wiring i was afraid that i would damage the existing wiring.
Good idea ..i will advertise it on Ebay.. Tug |

Probably means hole pattern, right? 160mm square vs 210mm square. |
