I see we have a Marinaut forum, are there not enough to have a pin for them on the brat map? _________________

Sure seems like there are a lot of them. Bigger ones coming too! I wonder when they are going to have the first Naughty Nut round up?

I agree. There is no place where we can select our boat -- just "other". And it looks like a second couple is buying a Marinaut in Connecticut, which is a start of a good trend!

At the risk of raising the kind of issues that come up when we encourage our kids to leave home can I ask when it would be appropriate for the Marinauts to have their own forum? I know I am not a major contributor here, rather a student of the experience of others, but I like the idea of keeping the map for c-brats. The Ranger crews love their own place. Maybe an m-brats map would be a good first step? _________________ Chimo: a word of greeting, farewell, and toast before drinking once widely spoken in the Inuktitut language in northern Canada. |

IMHO, that will make a lot more sense when there are a lot of Marinaut owners. Unlike Ranger Tugs, there's just a small number of Marinaut owners (I don't know the actual hull number Les is on right now but it's <10 and I think 5 or 6). With so few owners, it only makes sense to have them here and greet them with open arms. _________________ Roger on Meant to be |

They could set up a seperate site AND still be welcome here. You know, A Home Away From Home. _________________ Chuck

My point is that a separate site for maybe 5 or 6 owners doesn't make sense just yet. It will someday. |

When Ben Toland went off to design and build the Cape Cruisers, these boats later ended up being manufactured as C-Dory ventures, and are on this site. The Marinaut is also designed by Mr. Toland, and don't forget Dave and Les's involvement, who have been C-Brat's members for years. In my opinion, the Marinaut belongs on this site for those reasons. She is a close cousin of the C-Dorys. Marinauts have their own forum. What interest would it serve to kick a handful of Marinaut owners from this site? I think it benefits everyone.

I agree, give the Marinauts a colored pin or put an "M" in the middle of "other". When you view the "others", you find a number of C Dories, including the 27, 26, 12 etc. Also the tugs are represented on that map. I suspect that is an easy modification for the moderators to make.
Setting up another forum is both expensive and time consuming. It keeps all of the Toland boats together--a good idea. _________________ Bob Austin

Now I really like that approach. Wish I'd thought of it. |

If you have more than one C-Dory, how is the second boat listed on the Brat map? I can find Discovery our TomCat, but the 2006 22 Angler is not indicated. _________________
