I'm planning on replacing the bulbs (not fixtures) in our 2006 22' cruiser. The bulbs will replace incandescent ones in the following fixtures (fixture link, then LED bulb link):

4x cabin/berth dome lights ($20 ea):
http://perko.com/catalog/category/lighting_fixtures/product/420/
http://store.marinebeam.com/led-replacement-for-dome-lights.html (select BA15d)

1x red navigation light ($30):
http://perko.com/catalog/category/navigation_lights_under_20_meters/product/933/
http://www.marinebeam.com/44felednaliw.html (select red)

1x green navigation light ($30):
http://perko.com/catalog/category/navigation_lights_under_20_meters/product/934/
http://www.marinebeam.com/44felednaliw.html (select green)

1x white all around anchor/navigation light ($20):
http://perko.com/catalog/category/navigation_lights_under_20_meters/product/133/
http://www.marinebeam.com/bale15lebami.html (select BA15d warm white)

I've been considering swapping out bulbs for a while, but I decided to finally take measurements and place an order when I noticed the anchor bulb was broken. I believe the jolt the fixture receives when storing it in the V-berth bracket might be the cause of the filament breaking.

I haven't placed the order yet, but I'm planning to today or tomorrow, and I'll update this thread when I've had a chance to make sure they work with our fixtures.

In terms of benefit/importance of replacement, I'd rank the bulbs this way (most important first):

1) Anchor light. It's on all night at moorage to protect you from other boats, it's not obvious when it's broken (can't see it from inside), and it could go out when you're asleep.

2) Galley/table dome light. They're often on while docked/moored, without the motor running. They would presumably be used more than the berth lights.

3) Nav lights. Motor is usually running while these are on, so power isn't an issue. On our boat it's fairly easy to verify lights are functioning from the cabin -- the holes where the wires pass through to the fixture let in some light.

4) Berth dome lights. We won't be using these much except maybe for a little reading at night, so the power usage isn't so important. Having said that, it might be useful to have a more reliable bulb on the starboard side for debugging wiring issues on the go!

Look on E-Bay. There are hundreds of cluster LED replacement bulbs that plug right into the existing fixture for just a few dollars apiece. I replaced all of mine 3 years ago with cheap bulbs from E-Bay and not one of them has failed yet.

They were mentioned on here before, I have one, hard to beat, fits right on the stock anchor light pole, so bright I can tell it's on, it shines through the front hatch! Great Company, fast delivery.

I thought I would bring this one back to life.

I'd like to replace the cabin dome light bulbs with LEDs before going to Lake Powell. Does anyone have anything new on the topic. I am thinking of going with Dr LED, assuming that they are UL tested and approved.

Very bright bulb, the indentation on the side lets it fit around the stock dome light's bulb socket. I got the BA15d, warm white.
