Hello again from Iowa,
The Decora (Iowa) Eagle cam is up and running, Mom is on the nest with three eggs laid already, see; http://www.decoraheaglecamalerts.com/
Yes, you have to put up with some advertising before seeing the live feed.
Hope you enjoy watching the chicks hatch, grow and eventually strike out on their own as much as we have.
Last year there were viewers world wide.
Regards,
Ron Fisher
PS: also newly discovered; The Humming Bird cam which is in Southern California, see http://www.ustream.tv/hummingbirdnestcam |

Ron,
Diana and I were in Decorah last September (pulled the Airstream out, so couldn't do the CBGT) and spent a bit of time at the fish hatchery. The nest is right at the corner of the street that leads to the hatchery, and in a yard. I never would have suspected that, even after seeing the National Geo or PBS special on it. The birds were out and about, but we did see at least one adult and one juvenile. Thanks for sharing the birdcams!!!

Hello Steve,
Isn’t Decora, Iowa, a beautiful part of the world? Most people think Iowa looks like the scenery along Interstate 80.
C-Brats in their Airstream’s are always, very welcome to the National Mississippi River C-Brat Gathering.
Regards,
Ron Fisher |

Ron,
Being a west coaster, I had mental images of Iowa being flat forever. Not so, NE Iowa, It is very pretty. Diana started life in Nora Springs (near Mason City), but most of the relatives are in Decorah, West Union, and Ossian. The Norwegians do stick together, ya shure. I enjoy our visits to this part of the world.
Re: I 80, never again will I take that route. Too many trucks. I 90 from now on.

The running joke has always been that Interstate 80 was purposely placed across the most boring part of Iowa, so travellers would not want to stay and keep moving on to other destinations.
It has worked pretty good so far.

We have an eagle cam in Richmond VA also, on the James River. Naturally the birds are named Virginia and James! We had so much wind here yesterday, she got blown off the nest. Fortunately, the eggs (2) were not harmed. Wind blew WNW for 40-50 knots most of the day yesterday. It's blown a lot of water down and out of the Potomac, our tides here are 2-3 lower than anything I've seen in about 10 years. The TC255 at my pier was sitting on the bottom this morning. Fortunately, it's a soft bottom and my engines (on Captain's Cat) were out. Even a high tide this afternoon will probably be pretty low. _________________ CHARLIE and PENNY CBRAT #100

Truth be told, I don't know what I enjoy more, the C-Brats or that Decora Eagle cam. Thanks Ron. _________________ MartyP

If you haven't checked in on the Decorah Eagle Cam for a while, there are now three little fuzzy chicks.
We are also watching the HummingBird nest cam at http://www.ustream.tv/hummingbirdnestcam which is somewhere in Orange County, California, take a look.
Isn’t there an osprey cam somewhere? Where else?
Regards,
Ron Fisher |
