That was toward the south end of Hood Canal, where transient orcas were dining on seals. The bimini joint broke my heart when I got home!

Actually, I think that is a GREAT shot! It really gives you a perspective of how close you were and how big he was! I LIKE IT.

We got a really great show like this on the way home from lopez but the pic all sucked . digital is just not fast enough on our camara. I just love watching the whales. That breach is just great. Any quess on how long they will be around. I think they have already set a record.

They've been there since February, which as you said is unprecedented. The seals can't last forever. I'm surprised they haven't left yet.

If you could please herd a few of these down to the mouth of the Columbia, it would be greatly appriciated. I'm sure TyBoo Mike would oversee the Orca feeding program. Got sealion? Tastes like chicken.

Well, at least the whale is in the pic...my prior camera had such a lag, all I ever got was pictures of holes in the water where whales used to be...
