BEST CRUISING GROUNDS (for each season)

Bill & El,
Did the North Channel several times in a sailboat that required 7ft to keep the keel off the bottom and still found numerous coves to drop anchor off the stern and run a bow line to shore. The absolute best time to go would be mid-September through October. Avoids crowded anchorages and mosquitoes and the colors would be a sight. Goes for the whole Georgian Bay. Some day Widget will have to take a trailer ride to this area for a cruise.

Hi Folks,

I think Lake Winnipesaukee would be a great place to cruise, but only in the spring and the fall. Any time after the beginning of May til the end of October.

You can not moor during the night on Winnipesaukee anywhere. That's the law. In the Spring and fall, the marina's have space. Most of the boaters quit after Labor Day, and most do not put their boats in until Memorial Day.

There are many marina's all over the lake that will welcome you, and at reasonable prices.

We are going up to our Spring New England Meet on the weekend of May 14th.
