Thanks Tom. I understand the sales pitch, I was just wondering if anyone has ever heard of them....I have not. If someone else has already tried them, it would be good to know if it is a quality product before I buy.

Mallory Marine Products haas been around since 1925 according to another one one of their sales outlets, First Choice Marine:
"Mallory was founded on Friday, February 13, 1925 by Marion Mallory Sr. Since then Mallory has been a basic manufacturer and original equipment (OEM) supplier of automotive and marine ignition parts for more than 50 years and various Mr. Gasket divisions have provided marine ignition, gasket, flywheels, private label filters and other component parts to many major OEM’s including Mercury, OMC, Volvo, PCM, INDMAR and many others. You'll find that Mallory's OEM experience gives us a distinct advantage over purely aftermarket companies.
Mallory Marine’s current product offerings in the marine segment includes thousands of service parts for every major engine and drive system on inboards, stern drives, and outboards including our traditional ignition products, distributors, ignitions, coils, and spark plug wire sets, fuel system products, gaskets and gasket sets, internal engine parts, electrical system service parts, cooling system parts, drive system parts such as seal kits, gear sets, gear housings and a complete line of marine lubricants."

On further investigation, it turns out Mallory Marine is a division of Mallory Ignition Products, and their reputation is First Class, AFAIC!
Sounds reputable to me!

I thought they were part to the Prestolite group in Cleveland
I am familar with their auto products (mallory ignitions, Mr Gasket) but not their marine items. I would like to see a fuel filter cut in half to view the filter and amount of media along with overall the construction. I have seeen several fuel filters cut in half (same for old filters- a separate story)- and they do not compare to a RACOR IMHO so buy them and know thery are pricey but better made and worth it). I posted a link to an older fuel filter articlee and you can find it using the search function

This thread reminded me to change my filters. I found the genuine Racor S3240 cartridges on eBay for $14.99 each. No tax and combined shipping for 4 filters at $9.00. I had $6.52 in eBay bucks, so 4 filters were $62.44
The Mallory filters in the first post were $14.69 each, but they wanted $17.00 shipping.
