I don't know if I ever really said much about the folks that are doing the fiberglass parts for us. When the Marinaut was going to be built in Olympia Dave had arranged with another company to do the fiberglass work but it turned out they weren't going to be able to accommodate us in the long run. That started a search for a new shop and that lead to the decision for the boats to be built at the E.Q. Harbor Service facility in Cornet Bay.
Eventually Dave found Townsend Bay Marine in Port Townsend, WA and then we subsequently found that they have a reputation for high-end high-quality work. You can visit their website Here. One of their boats that I've personally seen is the 127-foot (yes, that's one hundred and twenty seven feet) sport fisherman, the Cielo Mare. By the way, they built the Cielo Mare inside their shop (actually 1/2 of it)!!!
Neither Dave nor I have the background necessary in fiberglass fabrication to do the fiberglass components of the Marinaut. I also found it prohibitive to set up the required systems at the EQ facility and even if I could have I'd have had to hire fiberglass folks and hoped that they knew what they were doing.
By going to TBM we're assured of getting the best hull shells we can get, fabricated by folks with lots and lots of experience, and who have the equipment necessary to to do things right. They're absolute sticklers for details and won't accept anything less than the absolute best quality. _________________ Les

Les,
Congrats on finding a glass shop. I'm really glad you were able to locate someone. That's not an easy task and I was a little worried for you.
