Simple question, couldn't find the answer anywhere...

Can one of you folks with a 16 Angler/Cruiser reply with the approximate overall length of your boat on a trailer? Basically, I'd like to know how much room to plan for if storing one in a garage.

Thanks...

The fairgrounds measures mine every year for inside winter storage charges. 19' is the figure they use. Boat on the trailer, motor down.

Length isn't the issue, it's height. At least at home. My 19' pop up camper has been in the garage several times, but she's much lower.

Hi Bill,
Scorpio with the motor in the down position is 20' -5" from very end of motor to tip of trailer hitch. I have mine in my garage and still have all of 4" to spare. My doors are 8 footers and I have just enough room to get under them. I like having my boat inside away from prying eyes and do not have to worry about someone lifting any of my stuff from the boat.

Thanks for the info, guys - height is not an issue, doors will be 12' or higher.

Hi Chuck,
When Judy and I looked at our new house, the first thing I measured was the 3 car garage. The builders are both amazed that the 16 foot C-Dory would fit into the smallest side with out canting it. after we moved in both of them had to come over to see if it was really inside. I back the boat in about 3/4 of the way with the truck and then hand push it the rest of the way so as not to hit the back wall.

I need to get something straight here. All this length worrying is to make sure a 16 will fit into a new barn being built on the new DaNag DaDigs up in PA. Now if I had acreage up there it would most likely have a barn big enough to hold another upgrade to a 25 or maybe even a Tom Cat and still have room for a tow rig too. And ifun I had such a place I might just put what I did have in it along with my trusty old Ford pick-up and leave it there and fly back and forth from time to time or maybe take a road trip in that fancy new Road Warrior van that's way to tall to fit in my California garage.

The question would then be what to do with all that empty garage and how to still get on the water on some of those really nice sunny days when I couldn't get to my big boat. Why shoot I might even think about gettin a little boat that would tuck into that empty space and just rig it to fish in the bay or up the river, leave the latte machine off, and own two boats. WOW, that would be what I'd think about.

Tim

In visiting with our guests last night, I found out some stuff.

First off, Bill has bought the boat house in the PA marina that my boat was in when I bought it. That's where the TC25 is going. The red 22 Da Nag will stay on the trailer and ready to go for cruises around the sound and country. The CD 16 will be, as Bill says, for day trip fishing.

Also found out that Dana (she's the smart one) has landed a huge job with Bill's favorite software firm up in that area. Bill still refuses to work for MS, so he's gonna be a boat bum. He might be able to pick up some bait change by manufacturing dorked out trim tab plates.

Plus, they decided to get rid of the Weinerhauser dogs and get a couple of these.

You forgot about the 19...gotta get one of those, just because it was my first true C-Dory love. I think I'll just set that one on the ground out back, fill the cockpit with dirt, and turn it into a planter. I'll place it right outside the kitchen window so I can gaze upon it while making lattes.

Oh, now you're just teasing me.

I hate to say it, but I think I'd rather see a picture of Brock in his velvet thong getup...

Brock's got a velvet thong outfit? Maybe I'll move up there, too.

Oh My,

Now this thread has deteriorated too. It's hard to believe that the other one was an "Upgrade" when we were invisioning Brock in a thong. And now this one is down to. Brock is just going to have to shed the thing to get us through this.

Did someone say institutional~control? That's where I come in. This deteriorated thong thread slipped by Control Central, but I can assure you that these childish digressions will be mined and met with proper authoritative response.

And that dog? Dude, that's not even funny. Okay, it is.
