Spoke to Jeff today and was informed that my boat would go into the mold Thursday, April 21st. This was GOOD to hear, since the last week or so has been rather frustrating -- while much of my frustration was not related to the boat, the boat issue seemed to build through the week.
The factory began my boat on March 24th, and last week I spoke to Jeff and learned that my boat was going to be delayed a little over two weeks because they needed to replace the mold for the hi-top roof. The next day I received an e-mail from David with some great pictures of the boat. Wow, did that boat look nice! And look how close she is to getting done (check-out my photo album). But wait, that's the standard top on there! Oh NO! And soon it sunk-in that she was, after all, on a production line, and that she would become someone else's pride and joy. Each day the thought of this became more and more depressing.
And as the week progressed, my frustration-level increased. Saturday was my girlfriend's birthday (I think 'girlfriend' sounds kind of weird at my age). The day was a total disaster. First, I went to make a cup of coffee to start my day only to discover that I was OUT OF COFFEE!!! Really a BAD way to start the day! Next, I found that I didn't have one of the ingredients needed to make a birthday cake! Boy, this really BITES! Then it happened == I blurted out, "I'm thinking I might just cancel my boat order!" And that left a sickening feeling in the pit of my stomach.
Well, I've calmed down. I really do LOVE this boat and I know it will all come together. So hearing back from Jeff just MADE MY DAY! Yea, we're starting all over again, but Jeff tells me that there's a silver lining in all this -- my new boat will be the third in production to get their new fix for the fuel-tank support cleats, AND she'll be getting the new 25 gallon tanks (thought they were already using these)! What's that you say, 'good things come to those who wait' -- Sounds good to me!
Sorry for the long post,
