For the curious amongst you, here are some site statistics for our first complete month away from MSN. I wasn't sure what to expect, since MSN does not provide managers with these details, but I was surprised; way more folks pay us a visit than I anticipated.
Unique visitors: 3,701
This statistic is a little misleading; in reality, it is unique computer addresses, not visitors. Some folks log in from multiple PC's, and some folks (mostly those on dial-up) get a different computer address each time they log in. Still, it points out something interesting; the vast majority of folks checking in here are "guests" - they have not registered as members, and look around without logging in. Which is of course, just fine - we like visitors, no matter how they let themselves in the door...
Number of visits: 11,045
Number of pages viewed: 188,283
Number of hits: 1,048,470
Yes, that's over one million. A quick explanation - a "hit" is a request to the web server. Depending on the page being viewed, the page may contain objects that make up many hits - once such example are the photo album pages, which could contain 10-12 hits per page.
Referring Pages: When you click on links as you surf, one bit of information that gets sent is where you came from. The vast majority of our hits came from folks directly accessing the site via bookmarks, but many came from search engine results and other sites that have linked to us. Search engines accounted for about 50% of these referrals, with the C-Dory and E.Q. Marine web sites racking up impressive numbers as well.
One final observation - the photo albums and forums are pretty close in popularity; forums edge out the photo albums, but only by a few percentage points. _________________ Will, C-Brat Nerd |

Those are some pretty impressive figures Bill. A nice testament to the success of the new site and your expertise and execution in setting it up.
Of course the participation by all the great folks in the group coupled with your and Mike's orchestration make for an unbeatable combination.
Nice going, and thanks again! _________________ Mark on Mighty Bite |

Another impressive number is how many of our members have posted at least one message. Right now the roster is at 195 members, and 100 of us have let some words fly from the finger tips onto the message board. I doubt that any MSN site, including ours, gets as much as 50% participation.
And we're just getting warmed up! _________________ TyBoo Mike

Couldn't help but notice there are no 1981's on the list. I beieve my boat is a 1981, built in October. Does that mean maybe it was not sold until 1982, and thus is a 1982? _________________ Kevin Richards - Catch 22 |

As long as you brought this thread back to the top, it would be interesting if Bill could update us with the site statistics between 2003 and 2011 or just the most recent year. This place sure has grown. _________________ Roger on Meant to be |

I think some of the numbers of boats per year will be off unless it is done by unique hull # since the old owner also has his info listed |

Kevin-
I think the convention is that any boat built after July 1 of a given year is next year's model, thus your boat built in October, 1981 is a 1982 model.
This convention may have been borrowed from the automobile industry, but I don't know.
