Can anyone give me a quick length and width for the main cabin floor in a CD22 Cruiser? My boat is 2 hours away and I'd like to take a piece of carpeting up when I head out for the FHCBGT.

Thanks in advance...

Keith

Good Morning Keith,
I just ran (really did run....thanks for the excercise... Wink ) out to the shop and measured the cockpit at 68" by 52 1/2".

Cockpit or main cabin floor dimensions? And if the latter, just the narrow aisle portion?

@DaveS - Glad to help with your exercise routine - and that figure will come in handy in the future when someone does a search, but...

@Sea Wolf - Main cabin floor, and just the center portion. <smile>

Guess, I need to slow down and be a bit more careful in reading what is in front of me.... Rolling Eyes

Main CABIN FLOOR is 68" by 26 1/2".

Lovin' the excercise! Laughing

(I had to re-measure both the cabin floor and the cockpit floor when I saw that "68" number appear again. Amazing what an optical illusion it is when the other number is less).

Better make sure that both boats are either decraguard or molded interior, may be different... Rolling Eyes

Mine is decraguard and since Keith's is an earlier model, then it is decraguard as well.
Good Thought Charlie!.....now hopefully our tape measures are both accurate.... Rolling Eyes

Excellent! That is exactly what I was looking for!

BTW, yes, I do have the Decraguard interior - and I don't have a bilge pump mounted just inside the door (though the water hose passed through that area before I removed it).

Keith Home Depot usually has a nce selection of carpet runners to cut off a roll. That is what I have been using. Inexpensive and good for a season. John

Home Depot also has an all-weather resistant carpet that comes in 6-ft width and sells by the foot. I believe it comes in two colors (gray and blue). Very resistant and inexpensive. I bought 7 feet of the blue carpet two years ago, cut one carpet to the exact size (not an exact rectangle in my boat: 74" long by 31" in the front and 33" in the rear by the cockpit door) and saved the rest for later. You can cut it with regular scissors and looks custom-made.

I am on year 3 of Home Depot outdoor carpet, held down with two-sided carpet tape(the original tape), and it still looks great. My dimensions also vary slightly from reported. I taped one side, and set in several strips of tape, then cut the other side and ends to perfect fit from the top.

And for the truly lazy, they have pre-cut 5' lengths of the same runners - that's what I grabbed last night in my hurry to get ready to leave.

Having fussed over several carpet runners over the years this time I went to the carpet shop and picked out a good quality one, gave them the dimensions, and had the edges bound. Worked out great and the cost was $60. A little more expensive but it is heavy, can be pulled out and subjected to heavy duty vacuuming without fear of raveling or being sucked up into a ball. I expect it will last for years.

The carpet runner in my CD-22 (see photos) was purchased from the stock rolls of carpet runner at Home Depot. It comes bound on the (side) edges and is a perfect fit!
