Before throwing my obscenely expensive AFI wiper blades away, I thought I'd try to find the practical solution to the wiper problem. At my local NAPA store, I found refills. NAPA part # 60-1502, $4.39/each. They are 15" long and can be shortened to 11.5" with a knife and a chisel to clip off the little stainless stiffners. A few minutes and I have a like new pair in my spare parts box.

Roger,

Nice job. Maybe this will work on ours too. Another project to look forward to.

This won't work for my oddball blades, but I like the creativity!

I have a 2005 C-Dory 22, and my mechanic also can't locate wiper blade refills. The electric motor is AFI

May try the NAPA blade suggestion; the price is right!

Marina owner doesn't have my blade in stock--2005 22 cruiser--and his assistant can't match anything up either. My attempt to get a blade from West Marine resulted in wrong blades and a return shipment at my expense. Guess I'll try writing directly to C-Dory.

I got perfect fit and form factor 12 inch squeegee rubber from my "car Quest" auto parts store. $3.50 each. That included the useless squeegee holder. I just pulled the squeegee out of the holder and it was a perfect fit to the squeegee holder on the AFI wiper on my boat.

So are you trying to replace the whole blade/squeegee assembly, or just looking for the squeegee?

Just the squeegee.

Great idea!

Thanks for this thread! Just after buying our boat I replaced 1 of our Marinco wiper blades with a factory replacement at a cost of roughly $30. With our 2nd Marinco blade now tearing and in need to replacement, and not wanting to pay another $30 for a new one, I followed this thread and bought a single 24" Rain-X wiper blade from Target at a cost of $9. I then removed the blade itself from the Rain-X bracket and cut the blade roughly in half, to 11.5". It is a perfect fit. The existing metal side rails from the old blade were still in very good condition so I reused them, but since I also had the side rails from the new blade I trimmed them down for use as spares if ever needed. The new blade works great, plus I already have a complete spare ready for use whenever the need arises. A fast and easy fix at a fraction of the cost. Thanks!

After searching several stores over the years for in stock wiper blade replacement...I finally found success at Napa. I needed the 12 inch size and asked for the same. He asked, 'pin or hook?' I said, 'pin' and out he came from the behind the counter parts area with exactely what was a perfect fit. No more fabricating wiper blades for me. And only $5.91 tax included.

How do I get the wiper arms off my 2005 C-dory 22 cruiser to replace wiper blades? Any help will be appreciated. I do think I have the right replacements. Guess I'll see.

You don't need to take the wiper arms off to replace the blades but to answer your question the arms are held on the motor shaft with a small set screw. Often, they can be hard to remove.

Thanks, but it looks as if I am going to have to replace the blades themselves. Got the wrong wiper blade holders again from C-Dory. It will be easier to replace the blades with wiper arms off, I think.

I just went to NAPA and got replacement blades for the boat. The part number is 60-1233, and they are the exact same blades as the originals, perfect fit. If the store has problems, tell them to look in the "Vintage" ANCO blades.

It took me a minute to realize that the tab that sticks up from the part that attaches to the arm just needs to be pulled back. Very easy to do.

And the NAPA 60-1233 wiper blade, is only $8.10... Order the blades at your local NAPA store via the internet and you will receive a 10% discount. If you are military and show your ID, they will give you 10% off at the counter. They only give one discount...
