George, that seems cumbersome. Don't you have a menu page with a GPS tripmeter on it that records distances? Not sure about the C80 but Garmin has one, it's resettable for each trip and will record totals until you reset that. I would think there's one there somewhere...I usually transfer that info to a paper logbook after each significant trip, along with engine hours, weather observations, etc. On the Garmin, you can do trip planning too, if you have fuel consumption curve info, it'll keep track of things like that too, based on speed being traveled.

Looked for the manual on the website to check myself but, if it's there for the C80, it's well hidden..

We're headed for DownEast Maine this weekend, still got this snowbird thing backwards!!

I'm going to be a new 22 cdory member..on order now from Cutter, for April.
I expect to put many more hours on this boat than previous boats. Current boat is a 40 ft. wood trawler style boat, Ford Lehman, 123 hp. and it takes a while to get her out and ready.

I'll be keeping the cdory in a slip just a half mile frommly house and anticipate lots of short runs, long trips, and just up the scores of creeks around the bay.

last year I put 127 hours on the boat. Would hope to go well over 250 this year on the cdory.

Dan - we are right at the end of two years, and both hour meters say 260 (twin 40s), so 130 hours more or less each year. We don't troll, so those hours are mostly coming/going to island cruising grounds...

I was wondering how many hours folks put on their primary outboards in a year. Not asking the broader question of how much you use the boat. I would like to hear simply how many hours on your hour meter on your primary engine in a year's time.

Dan, we also are at the end of exactly two years with 290 hours. Also like Pat I am "just" a cruiser. Except for that beautiful Springer I caught last year at Cathlament (on Larry's boat BTW).

We use our vessel primarily to commute across Rosario Strait with an occasional trip to Friday Harbor or for whale watching. Average seems to be about 80 hours/year.

When setting up my logbook for the TK Grand, I put in a column for entering readings from the paddlewheel on my Lowrance Sonar unit. I do so religiously. That allows me to look back at "distance over water" and helps to account for distance travelled when meandering around in creeks and bays, trolling in circles, etc. where trying to do so via GPS would be difficult. Over time, I've been pleasantly surprised at how close the paddlewheel matches the GPS when not running with or against current except at very low speeds.

1935 hours on the Hondas, and almost 18,000 nautical miles. Now cruising down the Cumberland River in TN with Wanderer and Rana Verde.
