Dr. John,

It's been a while since we've seen your posts here. Sorry to hear that you are selling your boat, but someone is going to get a very nice TomCat. Good luck with the sale and your future plans.

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Matt and Jim and all,

Thanks for the good wishes and concern. Actually, my health is OK, but just have too many toys to support with the long downturn in the local aircraft economy and have to come up with some quick cash.

I'd rather sell my motorhome, but the drop in RV values left me upside down in that situation.

I do love my TomCat. There is nothing wrong or bad about the boat, and I certainly have no desire for a different boat, but have to follow all possible options for the next month or two. If I get through the current tight spot without having sold the Tom a Hawk, it will be taken off the market.

Thanks so much for all the C-brats for all the years' good info, wishes and stories!

John

Dr. John; Just to let you know how sorry I am to read about your "tight spot". I have followed your posts over the years, from when you took delivery and cruised the Sound in the winter. Your subsequent posts about your upgrades have added to the information base of the C-Brats. I wish you all the best and hope you come through this difficult time in the best way possible. In the meantime, anyone looking for a top of the line one owner TomCat at a very fair price should strongly consider the Tom-a-Hawk.

Hey Guys and Girls,

It looks like Tom a Hawk is sold. Got a contract on it pending hull inspection later this week.

The new California owners are long time, long distance sailing cruisers and are considering a San Juan Cruise late this Summer. I think they'll have a lot of good ideas to share and would probably benefit from the knowledge here on the C-Brats site.

I cannot thank you all enough for all the information and friendship shared here over the years. It was so nice to see my own San Juan Cruise dream come true due to the great info and support here. Thank you all so much.

Also, I am now working on selling the motorhome and some farm equipment and plan to get back to boats after that, although maybe a smaller craft.

I'll let you know when the deal is done for sure,

John

That's good new John. While I know that selling your boat wasn't your favorite thing to do, I'm glad to hear that you've been able to do it. Best of luck in whatever the year brings you.

Thanks guys,

and Joe ... you must be an insightful person! I am lightening the load of oddballs projects and hobbies and plan to get another boat when that dust settles.

As I told the new owners of Tom a Hawk, I've loved every second aboard Tom a Hawk. No regrets for money, time, whatever when you're able to do something you love. So, when the dust settles, I'll be get back in the saddle, or cockpit, again.

I have a tendency to get numerous projects in action at once, and I am now thinking of reducing time and assets in all those areas to be able to concentrate on the more enjoyable.

Thanks for the notes,

John

Congrats on the pending sale, Dr. John. Hope you'll stay around the forum - always enjoy and appreciate your posts. You know what they say about "the two happiest days in a boat owner's life"... not true, is it.

Best wishes,
Jim

Tom-a-Hawk is sold. The funds were just transferred, so that must be it.

Jim, you are for certain correct about that. I have had a boat I was glad to see go, but Tom a Hawk was not that. These boats take you places you've dreamed of and cover your derriere when you get caught over your head in a squall/tide/etc.. And, you just become deeply attached to that understated reliability, economy, comfort and safety.

I'll certainly miss my TC 255. It was the boat of my dreams.

I think Fluid Marine should set up TomCat rides in Seattle, LA, Fl and NY so ppl can feel the unique characteristics of that hull design.

But now, to sell an RV and some farm stuff and then get back on that horse!

Congrats John. I know I enjoyed the trip you and I took on Tom-a-hawk. That ride had a lot to do with my desire to get the TomCat I now have. Hopefully things will get straightened out in your life and we'll see you in another boat in a jiffy. In the mean time, if you're ever in Seattle, I owe you a ride.

Roger,

Watch out what you say here. You know this is a public forum and you may be held accountable for any ride offers!

Actually, I owe you for sharing the local knowledge and such.

Thanks for the offer,

John
