I just sat in a 22' cruiser and was very happy with everything except the lack of sitting head room in the v-berth forward. I'm 6' and it would be impossible for me to enjoy a cup of coffee while sitting in bed. Given how delightful the rest of the boat is, I think I could adjust!
Neverthless, I wonder how other folks handle the space.
Has anyone ever considered modifying the trunk cabin to a raised deck? That is a common solution in other small boats. That would allow you to sit and lean against the side of the boat with just enough headroom. The outside appearance would not be too bad. It would somewhat resemble a Nova Scotian "Cape Island" fishing boat, another small boat whose outstanding open water performance is well documented. |

I'm 6'1" and wack my skull on occasion (ask my wife - thunk!!) If you like to drink coffee in bed, use the converted dinette berth! _________________ Janet & Chris without CD22 Luna C
