I've never sling launched before, but who knows - maybe someday it will be necessary.
Any reason NOT to get cut-outs on a new bunk trailer for sling straps? _________________

Bill-
Do it!
If there is a chance that you will sling, it will make it a lot easier if you have the slots. If you decide to come down to Port San Luis for albacore- they sling. If you put in at Edmonds WA, they sling.
Without the slots, they will put a block at the back of your trailer to keep it from settling and lift the bow way up in order to get the sling at the stern. _________________ Roger

Get the slots, but you'll have to tell them where to put them based on the GC of your boat. I'd hope the factory would be able to tell yoy where to put them. Mark the hull or gunwale at the sling points so you don't forget.
I've seen boats slide out of slings when they weren't put in them properly. First impulse is to run and try to catch the boat before it hits the concrete.....
