Thought I would start a new thread since there are 4 boats getting ready to outfit.
My first question is what prop are you guys using on your 135 Honda? |

The Boat Show model had a stainless prop on the 135, don't know the size or pitch, but assume it is the right prop for the motor and boat...

The propulse composite prop has worked very well on our 135. _________________ Jerry and Helen

Fred,
This may be a dumb question but, what in the world are you worrying about props size for when you're getting the boat from Les and E.Q. and they are going to be the ones outfitting it for you?

Has anyone mounted Scotty downriggers on a 25? What kind of mount did you use? Where in the cockpit? |

I mounted a Scotty 1106 on my 25, works great. Get the rail mount. I mounted it just forward of the cockpit seat so I wouldn't have to bend over when bringing the cannon ball on board. _________________ Larry S

OK, what I have to mount is my Ace pot puller. It uses a Scotty downrigger hump. The rail on the 25 would seem to make this a bit of a problem. Suggestions? I don't know how the downriggers mount on the rail, but I can't picture a rail mounted hump... |

Fred
I mounted the rail-mount right over the "T".... where the vertical rail support is.
Here's what you need to know:
The Scotty rail-mount comes with a piece of 1x6x6 plastic board for support. This keeps the rail-mount from twisting downward on the rail from the weight of the cannon ball rigging. This works fine, the problem was that when I swung the boom back up into the boat it would pivot around on the rail to the inside and fall all the way to the transom.
To solve this problem I bought a piece of 1x6x6 oak and put it on the other side so that now I have supports on both sides. The base of the downrigger is 6x6. Now I have a "V" shaped support running from the base of the downrigger at the rail, down to the gunnel. It was an easy fix, only took a few minutes. Does this make sense? |

Larry I think I get it, maybe I can get a look at it in April. Do you have any pictures of it?

No pics, I took the downrigger off, the only time I use it is when I come up and fish Puget Sound. I can explain it in a few seconds when you come down to Cathlamet. |
