Although we'd love to do this one, we will be down in Vancouver for my son and g-daughter's birthdays from the 3rd through the 6th. So it's dependent on whether or not Meredith gets off the entire week if we will make the trip up or not. I may even run solo if she can't get off.

I was just talking to Dan D this evening about this one. Sounds like they are planning on it but that's for him to say. Don't think SleepyC will be able to make it due to time and distance. I'll look into it though.

Are we supposed to book our slips at Montague individually?

Warren

Hi Warren please do book a slip if you want to be alongside. I think many folks anchor out at Montague or use bouys. The marina is expecting some of us to book space so just call them up and let them know you want a spot at the dock and power if needed. Marilyn the manager is at 250-539-5733 or info@montagueharbour.com Looking forward to seeing you guys there. George
Madi's Bunk is out on the water this weekend around Pirate's Cove and Wallace.

Montague is getting close already.. With my challenges of the year I have not done a bunch of the normal stuff of getting shirts and prizes etc for a trivia quiz. We will have an awesome gathering of friends who love c-dories and swap stories. Looking forward to it, and am open to anyone who would like to organize any events but I suspect most of us will be amply entertained with beach walking, hanging out and trips up to the pub. Will see you there soon folks, George

After having such a wonderful time at the Bellingham CBGT last weekend we are eagerly looking forward to everyone getting together at Montague!

I would appreciate some feedback from those planning on attending the Montague Gathering as to whether they will be reserving a spot on the dock or anchoring out or on a mooring buoy. We are leaning towards reserving a spot on the dock (assuming there is still space available) but if the rest of the contingent will all be out in the bay - away from the docks - we would be more inclined to do the same.

Also, for anybody familiar w/ the Montague area, are there shopping facilities accessible by either walking/taxi/ or the pub bus to acquire items for the Pot Luck? We have found it difficult to prepare 'home made' dishes and then convey them longer distances for the gatherings further afield and insuring such dishes arrived in an acceptable state.

Tanya has prepared home-made dishes for the Gatherings closer to home (such as Sequim for instance), but for longer distance locations we have typically relied on finding out what might be needed and then purchasing it closer to the Gathering site.

Anxiously counting down the days till the Gathering. Tanks for any feedback you might be able to provide.

Take care,
Dan & Tanya

Hi Dan, I'm booked at the dock and I think a few others are. It's a pretty small dock area and lots of folks will be on moorings. Montague has some store items available but probably best to stop at Ganges enroute or over at Bedwell when you clear customs. Also bring extra water as the Islands won't have much available. ie solar showers full extra 5 gallon bags etc. Look forward to seeing you there, not far off. George

Thanks for the feedback George. I will plan on trying to get dockspace then.

BTW, I have the "C-Brats Supplies" which is a fairly large plastic container holding plastic cups, paper plates, ladles and serving spoons, plastic forks and spoons and the single most important item - which Ruth passed to us at the Bellingham CBGT and said to guard w/ our lives - the C-Brats banner!

I was supposed to convey this stuff to the Clarks and Hoshstetters for use at the September Sequim Bay CBGT, but I could very well detour it to Montague CBGT if you think it would be useful.

Even if the entire supply canister would not be needed (please let me know!) I can bring just the C-Brats banner.

Tanks,
Dan & Tanya

Dan,

Congratulations on being entrusted with the legendary C-Brats banner! Before long, we'll have to show you the secret handshake and decoder cyphers. This is a high honor you know!

See you soon,

To be honest Roger, I am not 100% certain Ruth gave me the "real banner". The one we have could be a look-alike just to test out how we deal with such an honor.

They never mentioned the secret handshake or cypher so I do not think we are really on the "trusted list" just yet.

Take care,
Dan

The potluck is always a genuine "Pot-Luck" you take whatever is offered. So there is no really planned food part of the event. Just bring enough of whatever for about 8-10 people and enjoy.

Hi Dan bring what you can of that stuff makes it super easy for a potluck. Any banner we can put up really makes us stand out too. And well said Barry pot lucks are real pot lucks, bring what you have or what you like best. Brats are easy to please. There always seems to be a great variety and if all we have are deserts well that's ok too. Life's short go for the desert first. Looking forward to it see you all there. George

We are not going to be able to make it either. Have to supervise major bathroom remodel. We are planning to cruise closer to home during the same time frame, if all goes well. Friday Harbor, Lopez, Deer Harbor, etc. We plan to be out for a few days in the Aug 5-12 timeframe. Anyone else going to be in that area then?

Just as a side note, the Anacortes Art Festival is Aug 6-8. We may be attend, especially if we know other Brats will be there. Let me know.
