|
|
Hi everyone,
Here's a 2 parter.
We are currently boatless & considering a 16' Cruiser for weekending in the FL Keys, on rivers & the ICW. Is there a compartment for a porta–potti under the v–berth cushion, like on the larger C-Dory cruisers?
We're new to cruising, so we'd like to start small & trade–up if it turns–out to be as much fun as we expect! Although we know there may be a few around, we live in So. FL. Up to now, we have only seen pictures of C-Dorys. So, if there is anyone in the Ft. Lauderdale area or close by w/a 16' Cruiser who'd let us take a look before we buy, we'd be most grateful. Based upon the used 16' Cruisers currently on the market we're faced w/driving a minimum of 2,000+ mi round trip to buy/pick-up a boat, the likes of which we've never seen.
Thanks,
Sandy |

Welcome Sandy,
I assume you have been to the C-Dory website www.c-dory.com/index.htm
The 16 ft cruiser does have a porta potti as built presently. I don't know if that was always the case. Brock on Bambina is one of our NW WA 16 owners. Hopefully he will pipe up with his comments. _________________ David and Kate

Oops! Must be brain fade from researching so many different boats. When the subject came–up this a.m., we checked the price list, not the eq. list. Sorry for asking a silly question on my very 1st post.
Duh,

My only advice is to buy your second boat first so you won't lose the inevitable (except for C-Dory) depreciation hit. I've been up and down the boat ladder a couple of times this wifetime and there is definitely an advantage in buying the most popular size in any boat line.
Of course, my opinion is worth every penny you paid for it. _________________ Mary & Don Anderson

So is a wifetime shorter or longer than a lifetime? |

When we had our 16' Cruiser we stored the porta-potti in the storage area under the helm seat. (Out of the way when not in use). _________________ Dave S.

Depends upon the wifetime, David. Time flies when you're having fun. |

There's a slot in the Vee Berth on our 16 Cruiser for the porta pottie, or to allow you to sit on the pottie. The pottie itself is not mounted but the brackets are with it so you can if you want.

I have a 16' cruiser in storage in Melbourne, Fla. that I may consider selling, or you can just take a look to give you a better idea of the quality and layout.- Rich |
