I am looking for the best fishfinder for a 16 Angler. I also would like to be able to mount it in the cockpit of my 25 since the C-80 is impossible to read from the cockpit.
Thanks

Both Lowrance and Hummingbird make nice monochrome fish finders. They run in the $100 range. You really will need two different units, since buying a second transducer and bracket will cost as much as the second complete unit.
Units like Lowrance X 50 DX dual scan,or Hummingbird Pirinahmax 170 dual scan are good buys. I own both units and they are about equal. _________________ Bob Austin

Thanks Bob, when I looked at the price of the second transducer it was obvious that trying to use it on different boats was not making sense.
I have looked at some fishfinders from all the major firms just having a difficult time picking the right one. |

Hey Fred,
I would look at the new Lowrance HDS series. They have a built-in broadband sounder and for the price, it's really high quality stuff. If you don't care about GPS on the unit, the HDS-5X is fishfinder only. It's a 5" screen but you can get it for around $510 - $550 depending on which transcuder you choose.
It would be a real easy install on the 16' Angler. _________________ Peter & Caryn
