i am going to install a Flow Scan Fuel flow meter in Hunkey Dory. I was wondering what size fuel line I should use.I have a 2006 BF HONDA 90 HP. I did check the boat today and the fuel line looks like it might be 1/ 4 inch id. But 5/16 is very close. I do know that 3/8 id is too big. The rang is 0-20 GPH. Flow Scan says model 5520B-LFGD317 will work fo HONDA CARBURATED outboards. Smile Thanks

The hose barbs on the flow transducer that comes with the kit will dictate the size of fuel hose. I had to up mine to 3/8" from 5/16" when I installed the NorthStar fuel unit. My fuel line from the filter to the motor was due for replacement anyway, so I went with new Ethanol safe hose and changed my fittings to 3/8" to match because I didn't want splices and adapters in the line.

Are you happy with this unit? I am going to be looking for a fuel flow meter for the 22 and may want to tie it in to the Lowrance HDS-5 that I recently bought from Matt.

You bet, Warren. It works great for keeping track of how much fuel is left in the tank and is pretty accurate. Mine is a low end model that doesn't have the NMEA I/O. Doesn't Lowrance make a unit to go with their stuff? Might be a more seamless fit.

Yes, Lowrance does have fuel sensors but they are more spendy than the Navman/Northstar. But you are right, it might be a better fit.
