All prices base boat . 129k for R 25 SC , 139k for R 25, and a projected 159 k for the R 27 . Just add trailers and options ,food and clothes ,safety gear [which Ranger now offers as an option] and a destination.Or you could just sit in the driveway ,but what fun would that be ?Not a lot of tinkering necessary on these boats , pretty turn key .
Our new R 25 SC has a microwave , and the air conditioner is under vee berth and ducted . Same fridge and 2 burner stove . Generator and motor more isolated from cabin[haven't run it yet to see if there is a significant sound difference ] Battery Switches out side of quarter berth in portside genny/storage box .
R 27 will be 8'6" wide for trailer-ability.
There are today's tidbits from my perspective.BTW ,we accept C Dorys for trades with open arms.

hi marc,
thanks for putting real numbers to the boats. you never know who might read these post and get interested to the point of making a purchase. no doubt the boats look great and maybe some day i'll step up to the plate and order one. it's nice to know they are not out of my league.
best regards

Jim,
The R-27 will be trailerable without permits but will require a three axle trailer. Still not a problem for the Duramax. _________________ RUSS & TONI |

Russ and Toni,
You are making us jealous
We were already envious after talking with Ruth and Joe last weekend but the new 27 sounds like the best of all worlds.
Congratulations and hope to see you on the water this year so we can admire your new toy.

Russ and Toni, congratulations! Will you be bringing your new boat to any of this year's CBGTs?

I believe we can design a 2 axle aluminum trailer for the R 27 with no problem . We can get 11k carrying capacity from 2 axles . My educated guess on loaded weigh for the boat with fuel water Etc in cruising trim will not exceed 10k . The average R 25 is around 8k and they are around 6000 dry . The 180 Yanmar is the same weight as the 150 in the R 25 , so the increases will be in tankage, and the 2 feet of hull .

And in the extra lawn chairs and the 12 margarita blender that can now be fit in the longer cockpit. _________________ Roger on Meant to be |

We will definitely be attending C-Dory gatherings and maintaining friendships we have made over the years and all are welcome aboard for tours... and other stuff. |

Any updates or photos?
After Adrienne saw Joe and Ruth's new 'R Matey' there were stars in her eyes!
Mebby Chester, our 22 Cruiser, isn't our retirement boat after all. |

I spent more than an hour in, on, and around the ranger 27 at the Anacortes Trawlerfest. It was just like Russ and Toni's and boy was it nice. It has the same beam and draft as the 25, both bow and stern thrusters standard and costs about $10K more than the 25. I was very impressed (and Jeff knew it, he offered to take C-Cakes in trade and tempted me with a hat!! He's just evil) _________________ Patti and Barry

We're sure glad that the two of you were with us (May 17th) when R-Matey was delivered to Bellingham. Appreciate Adrienne taking photos for us (which I still need to post). Wish that you could have attended the Anacortes TrawlerFest.....you just might have acquired a new retirement boat

Hey, we totally understand....only in our case it was the 25SC at the SBS. We've been looking at these Ranger Tugs for years. Only this year was different...we were MESSMERIZED......and not only did we get hats but some really nice key floats. Go for it Barry...you and Patti deserve it....now that's what Fred kept telling us for years.... ....and look at what happened to us

I am anxious to see this boat too. Regrettably, we did not make it up to Anacortes to see it and I am still waiting for the Ranger folks to update their website w/ info on the R27.
If we ever make it to retirement (God knows Social Security will be gone by then plus their are rumblings about once again raising the retirement age) then I could imagine the R27 being the perfect boat to spend a whole lot of time on.
Barry.... is sure sounds like it would be an ideal home away from home for you and Patti.
Hopefully, will see one up close and personal one of these days!!
Take care,
Dan & Tanya |
