Hi Folk's

I was wondering where the best places are in the Sequim Bay area to launch when you are planning on heading for the San Juan Islands and not going to be back for a week or more. Thank you in advance for the information.

John Wayne Marina has a boat launch. They are located just east of Sequim....

I have been thinking about the same thing. Can you leave a truck and trailer there near the ramp long term? Are there better storage places near town to store? Someday I want to spend at least a couple months north of there.

Lloyds & Jeff,

John Wayne Marina has by far the best launch ramp. The South parking lot is the long term lot but has a posted 72 hour limit. If you contact Ron Amundson, the Harbor Master, he my extend this for you depending on the time of year. For more than a week, West Bay Boat 360-683-4066 has a fenced and locked storage lot. They are about a mile from the marina. If I didn't have a homeowner's association keeping an eye on me, I'd let you use my lower lot. Crying or Very sad

Several photos of and around Sequim Bay and John Wayne Marina in my photo album. See "Home Waters" and "Sequim Bay State Park" albums and more at this link:

Roger covered the bases already. I have heard of occasions where folks have been able to stay for longer, but it is by arrangement with the Harbor Master, Ron. I may have room at my place but it would depend on the timing, and it is not as secure as West Bay Boat. There is good company in that lot, a Ranger 21 and a C-Dory 22, Center Console, vintage circa Noah and the ark, but it is a regularly used, working boat.

Enjoy, and ask if there is anything we can do to help out here.
