Joe we are going to miss you. Shucks, you (and several dozen of your best friends were the sole reason I am going) and now we will all have to try and get along without you.
So come on up for the Friday Harbor affair and we'll all be
Miss you,
Harvey

Brock,
I spotted your signup for the SBS CBGT! Anyone else coming to the Larkspur Pot-Luck or Saturday events, you have another couple of hours before the name tag shop is shut down. Sign up or PM me. I'll be taking off early Fri. AM for the Dark Side (Seattle) and will see you all there. _________________ Roger

I just talked to the front desk at the hotel and they will provide shuttle service to the Link Light Rail station near the airport. You can ride the Light Rail to the Boat Show so don't have to worry about parking at the Event Center. You need to make arrangements with the hotel before hand, as it is a on demand shuttle system. The rail ride is about 28 minutes, runs every 7 to 10 minutes depending on the time of day, and costs about $2.00.
The Link Light Rail just opened within the last month or so, and might be kind of fun to try out.

Since Joe won't be there, how about we set up a laptop at the hotel and do the following:
1) Pat Anderson logs into the C-brats site.
2) Everyone who walks past make a random post under Pat's login
3) This continues until Pat has passed Joe in post counts and Joe becomes the #3 poster on the site.
THAT will teach Joe for not coming! _________________ Roger on Meant to be |

We can't make the gathering tonight, but will be at the boat show today, and hope to see some of our old friends there.

Ida and I want to say hi and thanks to all the great C-Brats that we have met at the 08 & 09 SBSCBGT's. We were unable to attend this year. However, just this afternoon, we finished with the purchase of a Claret Red hulled 2010 Ranger Tug R-25. It was a long process in deciding between it and a CD-25 which we liked very much also. However, in the long run, we decided that the R-25 would better serve us in what we plan to do. It will be home ported in Anacortes, WA where we will be relocating to later this spring or early summer. Tom, we still have your card. We hope that we are still welcome to attend some of the CBGT's this summer.

Randy and Ida, Congratulations on the new R-25. We just took a tour of the R-29 and it is a beautiful boat. Also checked out the Ocean Sport 30, and it too, is really nice. Maybe not the spiffed up "pretty" of the Ranger's but adequately functional and nicely crafted big water boat.
And Seawolf Joe, Man we are missing you here. I know the sacrifice of missing was a big pill to swallow, and we appreciate your sacrifice, but the meeting room was still 97db and packed to SRO, with overflow to the registration desk and beyond.
On another note, we also looked over the new 22 Cruiser built by Sea Sport. This is worthy of another thread, so all I will say here is that the workmanship is very nice. (IMHO). Some of the build decisions will probably raise some eyebrows, and others will generate some big smiles.
Thanks Matt, for the remembrance, and sorry I forgot your tip.
Sure great to see so many good friends, and put faces to some new names here.
See you all at the next one.
Harvey

Sorry I missed the Friday night stuff at the hotel gang. What a great time it for sure has been in the past years.... I have enjoyed several trips to the NW for the fun at the hotel...and never went to the boat show.
I miss yall much as I sit here in Clarksville, TN...looking at 6" of snow (have not had that for years), 11 degree temps outside...but rising... and wishing I was in the warm Seattle area weather with my friends.
Roger...not sure which year was our first, but the second year trip(2004?) when I flew out and got hung up in the milk run flights from Birmingham, AL, flew a few laps around St. Louis, diverted to Kansas City (were not suppose to even go there), landed, slung a few folks off...a few got on, flew a couple more laps to be sure St. Louis was still snowed in.... flew to Los Angeles (LA) to land, (was not suppose to go there either)....tossed a few off, changed plans...got on a different plane...then, for kicks and grins....they flew us to Seattle where we were suppose to have landed....a brief 6-7 hours prior.... SENSEI....the cold one you had ready with the GYPSY crew was for sure awesome.... and that was just the start of many fun years of this particular "gathering".
Byrdman....missing the NW fun again this year....but there in spirit. _________________ Patrick Byrd "Byrdman"

Well, Randy and Ida - you did fine, and Ranger folks are still welcome at any CBGT by me...
We escaped for the fourth time in six years without buying a new boat, not counting the time we put a deposit down on a Ranger Tug and then cancelled! Got some nifty fender clips, some more clothespins that fit on the camperback supports (thanks for the call, Fred), and some spendy folding crab traps made in Ladysmith. Ray, the guy who makes them, could sell freezers at the North Pole! Very anxious to see the new Ranger Tug 27, with the cabin of the 29 and the cockpit of the 25, 180 hp diesel - hey, daydreams cost nothing!
Had another great evening at the Larkspur, we had our swap meet/give-away, a wonderful deal. I snagged a couple of books on San Juan life, a copy of the Passage Maker that has the article in which we are mentioned, and a spare anchor light (thanks, Toni and Russ), a cleat from Robbi, and bought a GFI outlet from Roger Clark at a discounted price for my charger install project.
All in all, a very successful SBS/CBGT even without the factory party!

The crew of Two Lucky Fish weren't able to make any of the official C-Brats events, but we did run into lots of C-Brats at the show!
I guess that's one of the hazards of being a "distinguished representative of the world press"; you know...a blogger?
Anyway, nice to see those of you we saw. This was Julia's first boat show since...um...the Kingdome. Kiera and Arwen loved it, as usual. I'll probably take them down to Lake Union, because they like climbing around on the bigger boats. _________________ Timothy R. R. Flanagan |
