Hello: I am considering purchasing a 19' Angler, and one of the things I am hoping it will be able to do if pull my teenage kids (one at a time) on wakeboards. I understand this is not a ski boat, but I am wondering given the hull shape and lower powered engines I usually see on these boats if pulling a kid would be an option. Has anyone done or seen this? Thanks, David in Seattle

We've had success towing inflatable tubes on the 22' with a 90. I don't know the weight and speed issues involved with wake boarding, but I would think it would work.

My 19 could do it. I have not tried it however. Make sure you get trim tabs for this and other reasons.

Tight Lines!

We have pulled teens with inflatable toys for yrs with our c-22 and now with our venture 23 witha f-115 yamaha . we have trim tabs and we use them . I dont know about wakeboarding but I think it could be performed .what speed do you need and how big of a wake do you need .

Generally Wake board boats have water ballast aft to increase the size of the wake for tricks. I think that you can buy one of these bladders and experiment to see what wake and how much ballest you can safely carry.

I suspect that even with full ballast, that the wake will be less than a wake board boat.

The second problem is the lack of a tower. The tower puts a towing position up high (to keep the rope from fouling the cockpit, plus allowing the boat to track without being pulled around by the wake boarder. You can ski behind a C Dory; best done with a bridle and pully on the bridel. This same trick could be used with a wake board, but the tricks woould not be at all easy, because the rope is low to the water, and the wake boarder would pull the boat around.

I hae solom skiied behind 25 hp--so you can do any water towing activities with low hp--but it will not be the most effective.
