I plugged in my shore power for the first time today and was looking around and checking things out in the boat and noticed that the handle on the starboard side sliding window was completely missing. Does anyone know where I could get a replacement?

I have to ask....where did it go?? They don't have toes so I am guessing it didn't tip toe away. Therefore I would start looking behind seat cusions or under seats or the sort.

On the otherhand, if you purchased the boat used, you might check with the previous owner or dealer you got the boat from.

The windows are made by:

Actually those handles fall off quite easily and given that they don't float....
This came up at least once before on this thread. For one owner, the factory sent him a set.

Mine walked away a couple of months ago. Good riddance .I'm glad it's gone! No more beating on the window and power jetting the sliding groove. I just slide the window back and forth. It's a pleasure. Smile

Thanks for the info, the handle was off when I bought it. I'll call the factory, and see if they will send me a new one.

Another factory supplied handle fell off. I got some double sided tape (heavy duty, for carpet,) cut a piece to fit, and put it back on. Seems to be holding.

It isn't a bad lot from the supplier. I don't know what the window supplies is using, but it doesn't stick to glass too well.

Mark,
The missing handle mystery is now solved. I went to close the window one day and the handle just flew off, right out the window and sank in the Hudson River, gone. I forgot all about it. Any other questions please feel free to ask me.
I should take the time now to tell all the other C-Brats that the title issues are worked out and the new ones are on the way. New York State was very cooperative and understanding. Good luck Mark!

My port side window handle is loosening up. Is double-sided carpet tape the consensus best choice for putting it back on solid?

So far I've tried:

1. new handles, a waste of time, since they ain't free anymore.

2. Double sided tape, this was so long ago, I forget exactly what happened, but it didn't work.

3. Epoxy glue recommended by a glass place. Fell off last summer.

4. Tried to drill a hole. Tempered glass, don't do it.

5. One more thing I can't remember.

Since I saved a couple of handles, I think I'll try silicone seal next. Tried a dab on a window, and can't get it off.

Hello,

When one of my window handles came off, I scraped all the remaining adhesive off the handle and window. I then reattached it using HONDA WEATHERSTRIP CEMENT and it is holding strong after 5 months.

I bought it from this place: http://www.boats.net/parts/detail/H-08712-0002.html

YMMV and I have no material interest in the above product or business,

/david

I would try the glue they use for auto mirrors Go to a parts store and try to get some use the mirror by skrewing it in and then use the glue to reattach the window handles

Diamond has agreed to send me a new handle, for a price $10. Just thought I would document it here. They do call the window a D15.
