I want to replace the seats in the CAPTAIN'S KITTEN. One has a broken back on it and they are generally worn and weathered. What have folks used? I don't need but wouldn't mind armrests. She's a work in progress and I'm busily looking at pictures of the 16 interiors.

Also, what is behind the cockpit sides? Looks like it may be flotation, can't get to it but haven't tried too hard yet. Could it be opened up and have storage there like the 22?

A new adventure... Laughing

I changed out the seats in Tee Ten. I have the original ( gray ) which I will give to anyone. Cabelas has seats with armrests as well as armrests you can add to some seats.
On my 2006 Cruiser when I added Scotty rod holders which required me to drill into the gunnels on each side, I discovered foam.

Thanks Steve. Probably cost more to ship seats than to buy new! I'll check Cabellas. Will be at SBS 10 and when Sally goes to Shipwreck Beads south of Tacoma, there's a Cabellas store right there where I go hide.

I suspected that about the cockpit sides, I'm sure others will chime in. I don't care about the flotation. unless it fills up with water.... Cry

I replaced the seats in my boat with the Garelick EEZ-In Premium model. It's has much better padding than the seats that C-Dory put in my boat. If I have any gripe at all about these boats, it's the cheap seats they put in them. Everything else is top notch but those seats were like sitting on a board. The Premium seats are a little wider and mine just barely touch the motor control box when I spin it that way but I usually just spin it the other way. The Premium model is a huge improvement.

Its foam in mine. I unscrewed the underpanel and pulled out the foam on the starboard side today to get at the cable steering so I could unfreeze it. It was in 3 pieces originally, it is in 5 now Embarassed as I broke it taking it out. Not all my fault as it had been "modified" with ? gasoline to fit a surface mounted rod holder. I calculated about 500# of bouyancy for both sides, that seems too little to float a C16 Angler avec motor unless there is a bunch more behind the bow bulkhead. I'm debating replacing it as it allows excellent access to all the controls and wire runs on that side of the boat.

FYI...............

I had a seat made by the original manuf. of the C-Dory seats prior to sale to Sea Sport.
The seats were excellent.
