my yamaha 9.9 keeps dying after 20min of trolling but if I prime the bulb right before it dies and can keep it running. I dont know were to start to look . It has a fuel water seperator and it is hard lined from the main tank. The primer bulb is also not flat?

AK,

If you are on a portable tank, make sure that the vent is open. Don't ask how I know about this, but the problem sounds very familiar.

AK-

If you can establish that there are no flow restrictions or no air leaks, the next suspect would be a weak pump.

The pump for these motors is a crankcase pressure-operated diaphram unit on the side of the powerhead. It can be easily disassembled, cleaned out and then put back together and then tested. There is usually a filter screen inside it as well. Check to see that all the parts are clean, and that there are no restrictions between the pump and the carburetor.

The kicker is ran off of the main tank. I dont think there is a restriction because the bulb is not flat however I am going to replace the fuel water seperator filter. As far as the pump goes thats a good thought I think I will pull it and see what I find. I will also be back up on lopez on friday at the dealer to pickup parts maybe a new fuel pump. I was told it may be the anti siphon valve too.
