OK, here's a dumb one for you--on a Honda BF90, does fuel flow through the low-speed jets at all speeds, or only low speeds. In other words, when you are at full throttle, is the engine being fed by all jets or only the high speed jets?

I ask because I'm needing to clean out the low speed jets with Sea Foam, and wonder if I need to sit at 2000 rpm or so to actually be working it through the carbs.

bmc

bmc-

Speaking from somewhat limited experience....

I've never seen any carburetor with any cut off device to limit flow to the low speed jets at higher throttle settings.

It would seem unnecessary to do so, and also an unnecessary complication that would render a carburetor more prone to developing performance/reliability problems.

Even the engineers follow the KISS Principle (sometimes).

Ha ha, heaven forbid an engineer would keep things simple...

Somewhere on this site I once found someone who had mentioned a good book on the Honda BF90 carbs. I'm hoping to pull these off and clean them myself, and then re-sync. Any idea the name of that reference?

Also, do you happen to know whether the carbs have a vacuum take-off for a sync tool, or if they have to use the style that seals over the air intake?

I figure that I'm probably going to need to do this more than once, and at several hundred dollars each time, I best be learning to do it myself.

Here you go-

Honda 90 Blues

***The key to finding this with the Search engine, was to use, as is often the case, a word unique to the topic (when applicable). I used "manometer", and it was the only listing found. There may well be others.
