|
|
In the last 6 months or so, I've had this desire for a cat, yes a cat. I have no doubt that the new 25' cat will be a huge success, but what if a 22' was designed the C-Dory way. I can picture that in my mind and I think that would be the perfect boat for us. Hey, if Livingston can make a small Cat, I know C-Dory could. Somehow, I would scratch up the money for that one.
What y'all think?

Jon,
I don't see it happening, I do think the redesigned Tomcat will do great.
I don't think the whole pilothouse thing would work on a smaller foot print
with the cat. If they do the price will be so close to the 25 everyone will be inclined to step up for just a bit more. The 24' boat just works, if it was shorter you would have to start leaving things out, even with the the new top.
There you asked for an opinion and you got one
Hey you haven't seen popeye around have you, he was gonna hunt up some competitive suggestions for me.

Ok Jon, here is how you too can own a 22 C-Dory Cat of your own:( My advanced apologies...please humor this wacked out C-Brat)
Take 1 C-Lou.(ya got that part covered)
Add 1 Hunky Dory
Raft Together,by rope,glue,weld , your choice and...
...Voila !!! 22 C-Dory Cat!
Want newer? Take 1 Daydream and 1 Anna Leigh and mix as directed above.
Now for the best!!! go Trimaran!!
Take either of the above ideas and add a Laurna Jo as the Pivot Boat, ala the one in the middle.
That would be on helluva a boat.
Jim....out to lunch over this new boat thing. |

Great idea! Are they trailerable?? Never mind, sorry I asked!
Good luck in the selling of those fine 2003 C-Dorys - probably to three different future owners! _________________ Janet & Chris without CD22 Luna C

MMMMMMM, Why do you want to be in the middle Jim? Good concept, but the trailer would probably require a special permit. _________________ David and Kate

Ya know, a simple center console 22' cat would be one fine fishing machine....I like my cabin space though.
Man, if this new cat sends a small fleet of the older style cats to the used boat market.....I may be getting 2 footitius _________________ Ken

Ken,
When you get rid of the cabin and go with the center console
you put the boat up against really tough competition in the cat world
against companys who build alot of boats that are of good quality.
As far as tradin up we spent all our money on the first one.

Ken,
We won't be trading up, but yes the new lines of the 25
Tomcat are much more attractive.
Fixes that whole redheaded stepchild thing.
I'm thinking seriously about adding a hat bill to the
top/front of the Katie Kat like the one on the Molly Brown,
the new 25 already has it in place. My mom always told
me I was to impatient. If I'd of just waited a couple of
years
