For those of you that were at the Seattle Boat Show, Ranger had an 18' Ranger Tug on display. It was completely restored, and drew as much attention as the new 29' Tug. I just found a 1981, 18.5' Ranger Tug, powered by a Honda outboard. The interior is unfinished, but look very nice in the photos. All I need is one more boat. The Adminal said NO!
Check it out, search Seattle craigslist, Ranger Tug. I would post a link if I knew how Embarrased

Oh yah, Take a look. It's as quite as a bug.
The outboard appears to sit in a motor well.

I thought that this boat sold a few months ago. I drove out on the Peninsula to take a look at it, and there was another looker that I thought for sure was going to buy it. He wanted to get the price down a bit, so maybe the owner is not dealing. He was very familiar with this Ranger model and knew of one like it that had sold in Everett for less money.
The motor does sit in a well that is off set to the port side because of the keel. It probably will do 4 or 5 knots, at best. It has a sail rig, too. I think that the mast steps through to the inner deck as that model Ranger was sold as an open boat. The cabin on this boat is a Ranger 21 tug cabin. It is also set up for rowing.
It is a neat boat, but you would have to be of the slow boat mind-set.
Ranger, through the years, has made many different boats, both sail and power. They even made a canoe, which I understand they got the lines from the famous South Sound canoe builders, the Willits brothers.

Thanks for the link--of course this is the "old" ranger company--maybe several owners through the years...Nice double ender, and probably very effecient. One of my friends finally pruchased and restored a Hershoff "Scout"--similar set up--but no cabin, outboard in a well, and an outboard rudder. Neat character boats!

You can tell the sailing heritage of this boat: steers with a tiller from the stern, not a wheel in the cabin. Interesting mod with the "pilothouse" without a helm.

Very Cute!

Nice tender for your big boat at Roche Harbor!

I can imagine someone adding a propane-fired steam engine, smokestack, whistle, etc., for quite a show and to toot around the harbor just about anywhere!

And because the Craig's Link won't work once the boat is sold and the ad pulled, I'll post the listing and photos here for future reference:

man that is a cutie of a boat. If you live on a lake and like to troll a little this would make a great trout/ swimming / hangout boat for your dock. Nice.
